If you’re reading this, chances are good that you like streets.mn. For seven (!) years now, we’ve been leading conversations about the future of our streets, neighborhoods, and cities here in Minnesota. If you can think of a urban design issue, you will probably find articles and ideas about it here in the archive. Depending on the topic — cough light rail parking 2040 cough — you’ll sometimes dozens of such articles… There’s no better resource for people who care about the future of the streets and places that we share.
So if you appreciate having streets.mn around and have some extra time or ideas on your hands, please apply to be on the Board of Directors. For the last few years the Board has been lucky to have an influx of new members who care about the future of our communities and have brought lots of new energy into the work that goes on behind the scenes.
For example, we have a new Mission and Values that reflects with how our board, our writers, and our readers feel about the importance of transportation, land use, and urban design in our collective lives. Read it for yourself and see if it connects with your vision for the future.
In short, if you are looking for a worthy project, and you have a few spare hours each month where you could spend with a smart and friendly group of people, consider applying for the Board. We need new folks to help the organization thrive. That person might be you.
Here’s the link to apply. The deadline is Monday, November 12th.
