Safe Streets: Narratives of Pedestrian Advocacy
February 8, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pmFree
streets.mn in partnership with Nexus Community Partners’ Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute welcomes you to join us for an evening learning and talking about being a pedestrian.
When we think of our community and walking or travelling on our streets, how do we interact with it? Do we feel like the built environment incorporates this mode of transportation since everyone still has to walk or use their wheelchairs to get to bus stops, cars or light rail stations? Come hear examples from local advocates and government about how we have or could incorporate the voices and lived experience of pedestrians into current plans so that all can safely navigate our streets.
- Dave Colling, Harrison Neighborhood Association
- Tamir Mohamud, Minneapolis High Rise Representative Council
- Fay Simer, Walking St. Paul, City of St. Paul
- Julie Vang, REJA (Racial Equity on Johnson Parkway and Ames Ave E.)
The event is free, but we ask you to reserve a seat to help plan for food and the space. Eventbrite link.
