CANCELLED! streets.mn event – Backyard Ice Skating: The How-To and Why

January 22 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

$15

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE WEATHER! The rink is no longer ice.

Ever wondered what it takes to create a backyard skating rink? Is it really as simple as running the hose and waiting for nature to do its thing?

Marc Anders and Dana DeMaster have been flooding the yard for six years. In that time they’ve gained tons of knowledge about creating and maintaining a rink, as well as the ways that ice rinks build community and their role in place-making.

Come learn from the experts while enjoying ice skating, hot beverages and cookies, a fire pit, and conversation with others who are interested in friendly yards and community-building through the winter months.

Kids are free! $15 per adult. All ticket sales go to support streets.mn.

Lectures on rink-making at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. This is open house style, so stop by anytime between 1  p.m. and 5 p.m. Exact address provided with ticket.

Bring skates. We have limited sizes available to lend.

Our yard is ready for fun!
