Call for Nominations: Category 20: 2013 Best Riparian Corridor

Category 20: 2013 Best Riparian Corridor

Minnesota “10,000   Lakes” – so sayeth our Plates,

Purify yourself Apollonia, our musical Prince baits,

But Riparian means the banks of a river.

It’s rivers, which to lakes, are purity’s giver.

I would like to nominate the Kinnickinnic River corridor from River Falls, WI to the St. Croix. Probably the best trout stream near the metro, and great hiking trails. Some might also say parts of it are a good example of “conservation development” – preserving the riparian corridor while accommodating development and good access to the stream. High school kids love to hang out by the dam too.
