Mark your calendars to join the streets.mn crew at our upcoming Virtual Happy Hour on Tuesday, March 2nd (7-8:30 pm) with our Special Guest, State Representative Fue Lee of Minnesota’s House District 59A! We’ll be live on Zoom – read on for logon info.
Our focus for the evening will be the Upper Harbor Terminal redevelopment project in North Minneapolis, an effort several years in the making that will dramatically transform the riverfront site. The multi-use redevelopment plans include a large outdoor amphitheater for up to 10,000, commercial space, housing, and public open space at the former barge shipping terminal.
Representative Lee will share stories of his involvement on bringing the project to life, including gaining approvals and securing funding, as well as his perspective on the possibilities this large-scale redevelopment may bring to the area and its residents. Community engagement, equitable access, and public realm infrastructure have been some of the guiding considerations, and Rep. Lee will shed light on the planning process to-date. Bring your burning questions as this project gears up to break ground next year!
