Hey, Streets.mn community! The editorial team is holding our first Open Office Hours of 2025 on Saturday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to noon. We’ll meet at Loons Coffee in Minneapolis, which sits on the northwest corner of Lake Street and Mississippi River Boulevard, just across the river from St. Paul.
Everyone is welcome, from the seasoned reader who has followed us for our 13-plus years of existence, to the Streets.mn neophyte who has yet to read a full story or listen to a podcast. Streets.mn writers (current, past and aspiring) are especially encouraged to come and workshop story ideas, talk publication logistics, help focus or find sources for their topic and generally pick our brains about anything.
Meet the managing editor, Amy Gage (who assigns stories and works directly with writers) and podcast host Ian R Buck along with other editorial team members and folks who, like you, are working to make a difference and find their voice. We’d also like to know what you think about Streets.mn: why you read it, what could be improved.
Because we are a volunteer-led nonprofit with a small budget, we cannot offer to pay for food or drink.
Getting there: Loons Coffee is at 4648 E. Lake St. in Minneapolis, at the corner of Lake and West River Parkway. Metro Transit route 21 stops just up the block on Lake Street, and there are bicycle lockups right outside the cafe, which is adjacent to Longfellow Grill. We’re looking forward to seeing you!
