Friday Photo – Horrible Bus Stops Edition

Hi Streets.mn,

Here I am, the other half of Streets.mn’s Flickr page moderation duo, ostentatiously starting the fist of my bi-weekly photo posts with a whole bunch of my own photos! I hope you’ll forgive me – I just thought it might be a nice introduction to me and my sour take on this realm. You see, while Allie provides you with uplifting content like a lush panorama of the Powderhorn 24, I can’t help but play the proverbial devil on your shoulder, reminding you how bad everything actually is.  (Probably has something to do with this) So without further ado, here is my first Friday Photo post: 10 strong contenders for worst bus stop in “MSP”, complete with sarcastic remarks!

Because let's face it, cars.

This bus stop was thoughtfully placed right next to a gas station, so you don't have to get in your car just to pick up a gallon of gas on the weekend.

If you look at this picture carefully, it appears that two identical twins have just been mauled by an SUV on Lake st. (a plausible scenario) But if you look even more carefully, you realize it's a bus stop.

You could call Edina Realty today at 763-424-8787 for your Free Market Evaluation, or I could just give you mine: The invisible hand of the Free Market has given the carless residents of this 'burb the bird.

I tried calling Edina Realty for their evaluation of the Free Market, but there seemed to be some kind of misunderstanding.

How poignant - you could be laid eternally to rest mere feet from where you were laid out by traffic waiting for your bus. Note the helpful reminder that streetcars used to exist. Also note the additional sign indicating that, yes, believe it or not, buses stop here.

At least it's better than airline food. *Seinfeld bassline*

Nice try. Wait, nevermind.

Nice try, Minneapolis. Kidding.

Well that does it for this Friday, folks. I encourage you all to snap your own pics of bus stops that not even Instagram can purty up. And don’t forget to upload them to the Streets.mn Flickr account! Along with whatever else you deem worthy, of course. Don’t worry – not all my posts will consist of my own stuff, I promise. Stay tuned on future Fridays for some excellent work by other Flickr contributors, and a few special treats.
