UK bicycling distance traveled 1949-2013

Distance cycled in Britain annually since 1949, adjusted for population change, up to 2013.

This is an interesting chart that really puts things into perspective. It’s from the UK, but I’d bet that the US numbers aren’t dramatic departures from this kind of pattern.
