Here’s an idea that wormed its way into my head during the streets.mn writers’ picnic the other day. If streets.mn made bumper stickers, what would they say?
Some ideas:
My other car is a [blank]
If you can read this, [blank]
Honk if you love [blank]
???
I’m imagining a “Coexist” sticker, except with bike parts instead of religious symbols.
Easy: Live Closer to Stuff
Duh.
I pay for parking with a smile.
how about “I [heart] parking meters”
Start seeing neighborhoods.
Two points:
1) For me, the bumper sticker would say nothing, as I do not agree with bumper stickers.
2) I find it intriguing that the Streets.MN gang would bring up bumper stickers, as many of the writers/board members/commenters lack vehicles to put them on…
I DO NOT AGREE WITH BUMPER STICKERS
…would make a good bumper sticker
“My other car is a cargo bike.”
20+ years ago I put a REV 105 bumper sticker on my bike. I still have that bike and the sticker is still on it.
Maybe this is a perfect fundraising opportunity for streets.mn, design and sell bike-slogan-stickers. That is stickers sized well for placement of average bike tubes or fenders.
The reverse sticker would be, “My other cargo bike is a car.”
Curb to Curb to Curb: streets.mn
“I have no bumper for this sticker”
“Towards zero bumpers”
“You’re not in traffic. You are traffic”
“A spector is haunting St Paul, that spector is bike lanes.”
‘Nerdy ex-suburbanites 4 change’
Streets not Stroads
Just a picture of a crosswalk where the stripes are stakes or the shark teeth are actual shark teeth. Maybe Andy will draw one 🙂
Maybe something about traffic noise, such as,
“Honk if you’re like geese”
or, [showing the Edvard Munch Scream woman on the bridge with a motorcycle that just passed]:
“Stop HEARING motorcycles”
“Please don’t honk”
Honk if you hate traffic noise
Honk if you hate LOS F
“Proud parent of a Streets.mn blogger”
“Best Twin Cities Group Blog – says Everyone”
“Honk if you love quiet, livable communities.”
“If this van’s a-rockin’, then I’ve switched to
non-carbon-based renewable energy sources.”
“I’d rather be stuck in an intractable argument on Streets.mn.”
This one is good
“No fat externalities.”
“WMWST?
What mode would Streets.mn take?”
“Neighborhoods are people, not cars”
“We’re reinvesting our children’s inheritance in carbon offsets.”
“Don’t follow me. I was lured to the periphery by unsustainable subsidies.”
I like this!
“Our other vehicle is a 30-minute podcast.”
