streets.mn Actions Related to COVID-19

Since our founding, streets.mn has been devoted to community-based discussion of better places in Minnesota. Today, we want to let our readers, supporters and volunteers know how we are adjusting our operations as we face COVID-19. We are closely monitoring developments related to coronavirus and taking specific actions to help protect our volunteers and communities.

These actions include:

  • Moving all streets.mn Board and committee meetings to virtual/online meetings, starting with Saturday’s monthly scheduled Board meeting. This will continue until the situation warrants again gathering as a group.
  • Postponing our March 21 Writer Forum. We hope to hold this event May 30, but will consider the status of coronavirus in Minnesota within the next 60 days and may postpone further. Writers and editors are welcome, as ever, to use our dedicated email groups to request feedback and collaborate.
  • Placing in-person meetups and events on hiatus.

As a website focused on community, we recognize that common sense social distancing is needed to limit viral spread. In the meantime, we hope to see you in our comments sections and on the streets.mn forums, safely socializing. We are all connected, even though we cannot gather together offline. And while we cannot reach out with our hands, we can continue to reach out to one another with our words and our passion for better places.
