D Line bus parked

Join Streets.mn on the D Line Saturday, December 17!

Streets.mn will be celebrating the recent launch of the D Line with a ride from a bakery in north Minneapolis to a brewery in south Minneapolis and lots of opportunities for connections in between. Join us on Saturday, December 17!

We’ll meet at 1 p.m. at Thirsty Whale Bakery, next to the Fremont and 42nd Ave D Line Station. Treats will be provided while supplies last. We’ll then take the D Line to the Chicago and 48th St Station, where we’ll head over to Town Hall Tap for conversation and refreshments. If you’d like to join us there after the ride, we’re planning to arrive by 2:30 p.m. We’ll likely meet indoors but hope to have an outdoor table if weather allows.

The D Line features 60-foot articulated buses.

The 18-mile D Line runs from Brooklyn Center to the Mall of America — down Fremont Avenue in north Minneapolis, through downtown and then along Chicago Avenue in south Minneapolis and Portland Avenue in Richfield. It joins the family of Metro Transit’s Bus Rapid Transit routes whose fewer stops and features like pay-before-you-board make the ride 20% faster, according to Metro Transit estimates, and more efficient.

A few of us likely will board the D Line again, after hanging out at Town Hall Tap, to complete the route to the Mall of America. Looking forward to having you join us on a ride on MSP’s newest BRT line!
