Help Streets.mn Cross Our Fundraising Finish Line!

Hello, again, Streets.mn readers: As co-chairs of the Streets.mn board, Christy Marsden and I want to update you on our fundraising efforts this summer to support all of the programs Streets.mn has taken on.

We’ve made big strides toward our goal of raising $5,000 by the end of August. We’re currently at $3,452 raised, almost 70% of the way to our goal!

Used with permission of St. Paul-based artist Hend Al-Mansour, from her mural at the Target store on Lake Street west of Minnehaha.

But we can use your help getting across the finish line. Please consider donating if you’re able so we can continue our efforts toward:

  • Continuing to employ our Managing Editor who supports first-time writers, seeks out new voices and keeps great content coming to the site every day.
  • Implementing our Racial Equity Analysis, which includes intentional efforts to build relationships within BIPOC communities and holding ourselves accountable with a shared vision and concrete goals.
  • Funding our Crosswalks program to create relationships with new and established journalists to write about how transportation and land use issues affect communities of color.
  • Keeping the relaunched Podcast producing episodes twice a month.

You can read more about each of our 2023 efforts in my prior post here. If those speak to you, consider a donation to Streets.mn in an amount you can afford. Many of you may be looking for a meaningful way to use your recent Minnesota tax refund, and we’d be honored if you put it toward our efforts.

We can’t do this work without our readers, contributors and supporters. Aside from two very part-time positions, Streets.mn is made up entirely of volunteers.

Thank you for contributing to our vision, for helping to create more livable, sustainable communities and for all that you do for Streets.mn!
