The podcast this week is a conversation with Mike Madden, co-founder of the grassroots neighborhood group Neighborhoods First. Our discussion was intended to be a intro course on the Ayd Mill Road, call it AMR 101, all about the history of the road from the 1860s all the way to the 21st century, where the future of the small quasi-freeway has become a hotly debated topic in Saint Paul. Mike has spent almost two decades organizing in Saint Paul to have a say in the future of this road, and we sat down a little while ago at Kelly’s Depot Bar in downtown Saint Paul to go over all the ins and outs.
Before I play the tape, please consider becoming a streets.mn member, and helping to support our efforts. We’re an all volunteer organization, and we really appreciate anything you might be able to throw our way. The big blue donate button is located on the top right of the home page. Thanks in advance for your generosity.
I hope you enjoy the conversation. Link to the audio is here!
Small detail: The south connection was built for the Mendota Bridge reconstruction, not Lafayette Bridge
Yeah, that seems more likely. Thanks!
