Google Maps Bottineau

Google Maps in the Minneapolis Bottineau Neighborhood

Note: Original post is from the LocalMN Stories blog in July, 2017. It’s edited just a bit regarding any recent changes to my knowledge. Definitely comment away if there are more! Plus, it’s chilly outside. Thinking happy summer thoughts.

The Bottineau neighborhood is at the very north end of the 3rd ward. Google Maps does make it a bit easier to navigate around.

Stanley’s Northeast Bar Room – Just across the street from Bottineau, actually. Pub grub, dog pawtio, and a food truck for downtown and events in Minneapolis. See them on Facebook to get your social on. Plus, good or bad, the owner and staff tends to be proactive on responding to online reviews.

Gasthof Zur Gemutlichkeit, or Mario Keller’s Bar – Accordion music, German food and boots of beer.

Many years ago, my then SO and I went here on a weekend night. There was something about a glass boot of beer and not letting it touch the table. Nonetheless, it all stands today, except for the SO. That didn’t last.

Part of a Google review implies this may not be a great place to bring a first date… I guess.

The accordion player was a riot, a true entertainer.  6 out of 5 stars as a group outing…  But not a place for a romantic first date.

But, check out their Facebook page to get yer fix on their latest beers, bar bingo and polka.

Northeast Grumpy’s Bar & Grill – OK, just a block east of Bottineau, but worth the mention because of their local music, neighborhood buzz, and Paddy behind the bar. See what they share with you on Twitter.

A favorite Google review comes from a Local Guide.

Greatest bar in all the universe and/or multiverse. Transcending even the mind of God! Great beer selection and great folks too… and pizza…

Nice Ride station on California and 22nd Ave NE – A Nice Pride bike was there, although the red repair light was on and couldn’t take it out.

California Building – Well-known art gallery and working studios who caters toward local artists. They do have a nice social, local presence including their Instagram feed.

California Street Farm – They didn’t have a Google Maps listing so I did add one. The only hiccup is they didn’t have an appropriate category listed for them. The closest I could use was Corporate Office. There’s not really anything corporate about this and will try to change it once the listing’s SEO kicks in a bit.

Bottineau Field Park – Put this under the “learn something new” category. I didn’t know it had all the features or a regular city park, plus a sweet-like baseball/softball field, plus a domed field house.

NE 2nd St Nice Ride Station – This station borders the Sheridan neighborhood and is right off a NE city trail that bypasses traffic down to the Mississippi River.
