Streets.mn’s collection of events, community meetings and opportunities for engagement this week features an annual bike tour, Open Streets and your chance to weigh in on Vision Zero.
Open Streets is a warm-weather celebration of various neighborhoods in Minneapolis and a demonstration of how car-free events can build connections and community.
Join us at Open Streets Franklin this year on Sunday, July 10! This year’s event spans East Franklin Avenue from Portland Avenue to 26th Avenue. Mingle in motion with us, starting at the west end and meandering east to reconvene on the west end in Seward. From there, we’ll venture off Franklin for a little stroll down Milwaukee Avenue, a biker- and ped-friendly mall and Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.

One thing I look forward to when going to Open Streets events is to look at local businesses and community involvement along the routes. Open Streets Minneapolis – Nicollet is amongst my favorite. On a single lane street that’s usually too dangerous for drivers to view anything other than the road, these local businesses are […]
Here’s another photo contest for another Open Streets. If you’re walking around Nicollet Avenue this Sunday, stop by our table and say “hi.” Feel free to chat about sidewalks, urbanism, the nice weather, the future of Minneapolis, or anything else that’s on your mind! Rules for contest: While you’re at Open Streets, walk around, grab […]
